OUR BELIEFS
Built Upon the Word of God
At Foundation of Truth Ministries, the Word of God is the foundation of what we believe, teach, and live. We believe that truth is found in God's Word and that His Word teaches us not only how to be saved, but how to live a life that is pleasing unto Him.
Our desire is to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, help people understand His commandments, and encourage every believer to build their life upon His Word.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
— 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
WHAT DID JESUS TEACH?
The Words of Jesus Are Meant to Be Lived
Jesus did not teach us to simply hear His words. He taught us to obey them. Knowing the Word of God should lead us to live according to the Word of God. Jesus compared the person who hears His sayings and does them to a wise man who built his house upon a rock. Our lives must be built upon the truth of His Word.
“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:”
MATTHEW 7:24 (KJV)
THE GOSPEL & SALVATION
Ye Must Be Born Again
Jesus taught that being born again is necessary to enter into the kingdom of God. He did not describe the new birth as simply believing in Him in our hearts or acknowledging Him with our words. Jesus said, “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
After Jesus' death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, we see this message preached on the day of Pentecost. When the people were convicted in their hearts and asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Peter answered, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
The gospel therefore calls for a response. We must repent, turning from sin unto God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Scripture also teaches that we must receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The new birth is not merely an outward profession of belief; it is a work of God in the life of the believer as we respond to His Word in obedience.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
JOHN 3:5 (KJV)

Buried with Him in baptism. Raised to walk in newness of life.

BAPTISM
Buried With Christ, Raised to Walk in Newness of Life
Baptism is more than going down into water, it is obedience to the Word of God. When the people were pricked in their hearts and asked, “What shall we do?” Peter told them to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
In baptism, the old life is buried. Just as Christ died, was buried, and rose again, we are called to leave the old life of sin behind and “walk in newness of life.”
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
